A LinkedIn QR code opens your profile the moment someone scans it, so new contacts can connect without typing your name. You can make one free in under a minute with the steps below.

Step 1: Copy your LinkedIn profile link

  1. Open LinkedIn and go to your profile.
  2. Click 'Edit public profile & URL' on desktop, or tap the three dots and 'Share profile via' on mobile.
  3. Copy the link — it looks like linkedin.com/in/your-name.
  4. Tip: set a custom URL first (linkedin.com/in/firstname-lastname). It looks cleaner and is easier to read aloud.

Step 2: Turn it into a QR code

Paste the link into the Linkly QR code generator at /qr-code-generator. Pick a dark color on a light background, add your initials or company logo in the middle, and download PNG for screens or SVG for print.

Static or dynamic: which should you choose?

A static QR code encodes your LinkedIn URL directly. If you change your custom URL later, the printed code breaks. A dynamic QR code points to a short Linkly link that you can redirect any time, and it counts scans. For business cards and conference badges you'll print in bulk, go dynamic.

Even better: link to a page with all your links

Most people want more than LinkedIn: your email, portfolio, calendar booking link and website. A free link-in-bio page at /link-in-bio puts them all behind one QR code, and you can edit it after printing.

Where to use your LinkedIn QR code

  • Business cards — the back side, at least 2 cm wide.
  • Conference badges and lanyards.
  • The last slide of a presentation, with the caption 'Connect with me'.
  • Email signatures for in-person meetings shown on screen.
  • Resumes and portfolios — see our guide on putting a QR code on a resume.
  • Trade-show booth signage.

Frequently asked questions

Does LinkedIn have its own QR code?

Yes, the LinkedIn mobile app has a built-in QR code, but you can't brand it, track scans or change where it points. A custom QR code fixes all three.

Is a LinkedIn QR code free?

Yes. Static QR codes on Linkly are free forever with no signup. Scan tracking and editable destinations come with Pro.

What happens if I change my LinkedIn URL?

A static code stops working. A dynamic code keeps working — you update the destination in your dashboard and the printed code follows.

How big should a LinkedIn QR code be on a business card?

At least 2 cm (0.8 in) square with a white quiet zone around it.
