A payment QR code opens your PayPal, Venmo, Cash App or Stripe payment link so customers can pay from their phone in seconds. It's ideal for market stalls, tradespeople, tutors and anyone who invoices in person.

Step 1: Get your payment link

  • PayPal: create a PayPal.Me link (paypal.me/yourname) in your PayPal settings.
  • Venmo: your profile link is venmo.com/u/yourname.
  • Cash App: your $Cashtag link is cash.app/$yourname.
  • Stripe, Square or Paddle: create a payment link in the dashboard for a fixed product or amount.

Step 2: Turn the link into a QR code

Paste the link into /qr-code-generator, add your logo so customers know it's really you, and download it as SVG for crisp printing on signs and invoices.

Accept several payment methods with one code

Customers have favourites. Instead of printing three codes, create a free link-in-bio page with buttons for PayPal, Venmo and card payment, and point one QR code at it. You can reorder or swap methods later without reprinting.

Keep payment QR codes safe

  • Use a dynamic code so you can instantly change the destination if an account changes.
  • Check printed codes regularly — scammers sometimes stick fake codes on top of real ones.
  • Show your business name next to the code so customers can confirm the payee.
  • Never put card details or passwords in a QR code; only public payment links.

Where to display your payment QR code

  • Counter or stall sign, at eye level.
  • Printed invoices and receipts.
  • Delivery notes and job sheets for tradespeople.
  • Tip jars and donation boxes.

Frequently asked questions

Are payment QR codes free to make?

Yes. Creating the code on Linkly is free. Your payment provider still charges its normal transaction fees.

Can I set a fixed amount?

Yes. Use a payment link with an amount built in — for example a Stripe payment link for a product, or paypal.me/yourname/25.

Is it safe to pay with a QR code?

It's as safe as the link behind it. Customers should check the payee name on the payment screen before confirming.

What if I change payment provider?

With a dynamic QR code you just update the destination; the printed code keeps working.
